Living in Germany pt 1

Why I am calling this post part one is because I want to document multiple times throughout my time here. I know my perspective, attitude, and experiences will change and I want to be able to look back over time and see how much things changed.

First off, we never see the sun.

As of right now, I do not have much experience of living in Germany. For one, we haven't traveled far from home with me being 38 weeks pregnant and secondly, we live on a military post so therefore I do not feel like I am living in Germany, just next to it.

This is one of the churches near downtown Wiesbaden. There's amazing architecture here and so many of the buildings have character and history. This is not the big church, though. There is an even bigger church less than a mile from this one if my distance is accurate.

about three weeks into being here it decided to snow. Well, not a full on blizzard but enough to stick to the ground for the morning. By the time the afternoon rolled around it had melted off. Zelda didn't really know how to feel about it. She hates walking in the rain but didn't seem to mind walking in the snow for a bit.

I try to take Zelda around post every day or every other day. There isn't much to see on post but it gets me out of the apartment and fresh air. Our walking circuit is about 1.1 miles.

How the post is set up here for those coming to Wiesbaden on military orders is that there are three housing areas (Crest View, Aukumn, and Hainerberg). At least from what I understand, there are only three. We live on Hainerberg, that is where commissary, px and some of the schools are located. On Crest View (officer families get to live here) that is where MWR, the gym, and I believe a few more schools are located. I am not sure what is located on Aukumn.

I wish we had the gym at Hainerburg but if you don't mind doing running or walking for cardio we are two miles from downtown so you can definitely get some miles in.

So as of right now I do not have much to say that is exciting about being in Germany. I'm hoping over time my posts will become more exciting as I become braver to travel outside of post and downtown.
